For Questions or More Information Contact : Lisa Krumnow - President lkrumnow@cayugaisd.com Angie Watson - Vice President Kimberly Hillhouse - Secretary khillhouse@cayugaisd.com Jessica Gonzales - Treasurer jgonzales@cayugaisd.com History : Project Graduation began in Oxford Hills, Maine, in 1980, as a way to prevent the type of tragedies that Oxford Hills had experienced in 1979, when 7 teens died due to alcohol and other drug related activity after graduation commencement. The community rallied together to offer the 1st ever alternative to the "traditional" graduation - night drinking event. By 1986, Project Graduation was held in all 50 states. The primary aims of Project Graduation activities are to increase awareness of the dangers of drinking, illegal drug use and driving. And to reduce the number of youths involved in alcohol and other drug-related accidents and deaths. In the East Texas area, most high schools provide some version of the "Project Graduation" event. Cayuga High School is one of the few schools that usually holds the event on their high school campus, allowing the graduates the opportunity to roam the decorated halls of their alma-mater one last time with their friends. One thing that makes Project Graduation different is the attitude of the students. By attend the Project Graduation event immediately after Graduation Ceremonies, they have made a decision to enjoy their graduation night without alcohol or other drugs, and instead share this last night of being a Wildcat having fun with their friends. Project Graduation event is organized by WHS Parents and funded through the generous donations from Parents and the Community in both time and money. CISD provides NO funding for this event. **See more information at Project Graduation (maine.gov) website. - Student and Parent Complaints / Grievanc | CAYUGA WILDCATS
Student and Parent Complaints and Grievances Cayuga Independent School District has established the following procedures to assist in resolving concerns and complaints. Complaints must always begin at the level in which the concern occurred. CISD encourages students and parents to discuss their concerns and complaints first through informal conferences with the appropriate teacher, principal, or other campus administrator in accordance with Policy FNG(LOCAL) . If an informal conference regarding a complaint fails to reach the requested outcome, the student or parent may initiate the formal process by timely filing a Level One complaint form (See below) at the campus level as described in Policy FNG(LOCAL) and Policy FNG(LEGAL) . Student and Parent Complaints/Grievances Level One Level Two and Three Level One You may complete the following form for online submission or click below for a printable version. Complaint forms must be filed: Within 15 days of the date the student or parent first knew, or with reasonable diligence should have known, of the decision or action giving rise to the complaint or grievance; and With the lowest level administrator who has the authority to remedy the alleged problem. CAYUGA ISD STUDENT AND PARENT COMPLAINTS/GRIEVANCES Level One Note : Informal resolution is encouraged but does not extend any deadlines in FNG(LOCAL), except by mutual written consent. Please use this form to file a formal, initial complaint in accordance with FNG(LOCAL), regardless of the level of administrator or hearing that may be designated by the District to respond to the complaint. Please fill out this form completely and submit it by hand delivery, electronic communication, or U.S. Mail to the appropriate administrator within the time established in FNG(LOCAL). All complaints will be heard in accordance with FNG(LEGAL) and (LOCAL) or any exceptions outlined therein. A person filing a complaint regarding refusal of entry to or ejection from property under the District’s control based on Education Code 37.105 will be permitted to address the Board in person within 90 calendar days of filing the initial complaint, unless the complaint is resolved before reaching the Board. [See GKA] If you are initiating a formal complaint with the District, please use this Exhibit A—Level One form. The appropriate level administrator or level hearing will be designated to respond to the complaint in accordance with this policy. A complaint form that is incomplete in any material way may be dismissed, but may be refiled with all the required information if the refiling is within the designated time for filing a complaint. Attach to this form any documents you believe will support the complaint; if unavailable when you submit this form, they may be presented no later than the Level One conference. Please keep a copy of the completed form and any supporting documentation for your records. - One Act Play | CAYUGA WILDCATS
1/0 UIL One Act Play The UIL One-Act Play contest is a competition where similarly sized Texas schools present an 18-40 minute play and may be adjudicated by a panel of three judges or a single judge. The contest is held on a single day and open to the public. There are six possible levels of competition: Zone, District, Bi-Distrct, Area, Region, and State. At each level of competition a judge awards individual acting awards as well as selecting three productions to advance to the next level of competition up to the Regional Level where only two will advance to the State Level. After the awards are announced a Judge gives an oral critique to each of the schools. Because of the wide participation and diversity of plays produced certain rules and guidelines have been adopted by the State One-Act Play Office. These rules are in place to ensure safety, allow for equity, satisfy legal standards, and make the running of the contest practical. Lance Satterwhite Sponsor lsatterwhite@cayugaisd.com
